As a former Golf Professional in Scottsdale and Phoenix Arizona I have had the pleasure of playing some of the best golf courses in the valley. Below are my rankings as well as a few comments. We do represent buyers and sellers at almost all of these properties as well! Feel free to share you favorites as this is a moving and flexible list!
Top 10 Public Golf Courses
1 Troon North $$$$ ~ Set the standard for luxury public golf in Arizona.
2 We-Ko-Pa $$$$~ Pure golf, no homes, great layout.
3 Grayhawk $$$ ~ Near town, great service, 36 holes.
4 Talking Stick $$$ ~ Ben Crenshaw design, on native Indian reservation.
5 The Boulders $$$ ~ Old school high end scottsdale layout, views are amazing.
6 Quintero $$$ ~ Middle of nowhere, big golf course. Challenging.
7 The Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain $$$ ~ Ritz Carlton, Tucson Mountains.
8 TPC Scottsdale $$$$ ~ Play where the PGA pros play. Stadium course only.
9 Legend Trail $$$ ~ Reasonable price in north Scottsdale.
10 The Raven $$$ ~ In town, great service.
Top 10 Private Golf Communities
1 Silver Leaf~Location, view, prestige. The cream of North Scottsdale.
2 Estancia~Fazio design, north of Silver Leaf. Simple amazing and ultra private.
3 Whisper Rock~The golfers club. Meet at “The Hang” after your round.
4 Desert Mountain ~7 Jack Nicklaus courses, the ultimate in master planned private.
5 Forest Highlands ~In Flagstaff, where every member of the first 4 clubs go in the summer.
6 Pine Canyon ~ Flagstaff’s newer and upscale version of Forest Highlands.
7 Desert Forest ~ Original desert jewel. Rated #1 GC in Arizona. Old school private.
8 DC Ranch ~ 36 holes of golf in north Scottsdale, close to everything.
9 Desert Highlands ~ First Nicklaus GC in the Desert. Location and old school charm.
